It’s March, spring is knocking on the door, at Solent PR this means: It’s Ebook in a day time! This event started last year when Solent PR (or more precisely Catherine Sweet) took on the challenge of the then CIPR president Stephen Waddington, who dared anyone in the UK to create an ebook in just one day.
So here we are again, one year later and this challenge should live on. That’s why we gathered this morning at 9 o’clock at Solent Creatives to welcome the current CIPR president, Sarah Pinch, to support us (and to actually write a chapter herself!) in the #ebookinaday.
This year’s topic was “Content PR“, the aim was to recapture what’s been “stolen” by marketing. The MA PR students and some alumni and “outside helpers” managed the following chapters, while the Undergrad students and the MA Creative Advertising worked as team members.
After a short briefing we swarmed out to do the research, run a demo and write down our reflections and results. We only had six hours to finish the whole book!
Well, time flies when you have fun (and a lot of work…), so the hours flew by as we were very busy creating and curating written as well as visual content, engaging audiences and writing down everything we learned. After what felt like 10 minutes, we met again at Solent Creatives for a windup.
All in all, it was a great day with a lot of new experiences and much fun. A big thanks to our lecturer Dr. Catherine Sweet for taking on the challenge and for giving us the opportunity to grow, to the CIPR president Sarah Pinch for not sparing to put in a lot of effort and time to support us!
We can’t wait to see the results!
