Storytelling first

Too often Public Relations appears to be perceived as primarily a journalistic and technical function – media relations and publicity. I believe the real value add of a good PR consultant is the ability to tell a story. Organisations depend on communicators to articulate why their product or technology matters. It’s that articulation of their story that should lead the relationship building side of PR – relationships with the right people to enhance the ability of the organisation to meet its goals.
