The PRide Award 2013 – Martyna Stepien

Graduate Martyna Stepien, took home a the Outstanding Young Communicator award from PRide Award this year. The Senior Communications Officer at Southampton City Council, who graduated from the BA PR and Comms in 2010; and the MA Public Relations in 2012 became the Gold Winner of this award

Martyna Stepien has made eye-catching progress in her first communications role after graduating from university and has clearly demonstrated her passion and commitment to public relations as an industry. She has delivered a number of campaigns in her role and each one has been a great success, bringing reputational and financial benefits. None more so than the work she has done on the My Journey brand awareness campaign for Southampton City Council, which has achieved fantastic levels of engagement throughout the city in a very short period. Martyna is assiduous in her continued professional development, attending conferences on stakeholder engagement and social media best practice, as well as additional training sessions in media relations and marketing management. Her efforts have seen her recently promoted to a Senior Communications Officer role after just eight months of working for Southampton City Council. Martyna is a very worthy winner of the Outstanding Young Communicator award.
